At just over a month since releasing for testing, the Sunnyvale Company has taken its Yahoo Messenger with Voice version 8 out of Beta. The most important innovation brought by the instant messaging service is the interoperability feature that permits conjunction with Windows Live Messenger, a characteristic introduced a couple of weeks ago to both IM clients. In the Beta version, the plugin that shows your music from winamp in the status was not working. Now I have to try this final version, but i think after that i'll roll back at YM 7 because I like simple things, I don't wanna see a lot of crap that will cover my list...

Thursday, July 27, 2006On July 27, 2006, Mozilla has announced that it has released Firefox 1.5.0.5. The latest variant of the IE's rival browser is not connected in any way to the latest version of Firefox 2.0 that is currently in beta phase.
Mozilla is trying to keep the high standard of security that has become synonymous with the brand, but also improves on the browser's stability and adds changes for Frisian locale. Firefox 1.5.0.5 will address a total of no less than 12 security vulnerabilities, out of which seven were ranked as critical, two have a high degree impact and the remaining three are considered moderate threats.
This security update comes in the wake of a Firefox Trojan threat dubbed FireSpy or FormSpy that compromises the machine presenting itself as a Mozilla browser extension, after being dropped by the Dloadr-AKL Trojan horse.

Symantec and Yahoo team up on security
Symantec and Yahoo plan to announce on Tuesday a partnership designed to improve online security for consumers.

Even if Buffon, Nedved and Del Piero decided to stay with Juve – and will be forever loved by the fans – more decided to leave for better horizons.Barcelona transferred Zambrotta and Thuram. Real Madrid is very close to signing with Cannavaro and Emerson. Trezeguet, even if he said he would stay, is linked to a Barcelona move. Zlatan Ibrahimovic is very close to signing a deal with Inter Milan. And these are just a few players that have already hit the road.
And it was time for Vieira to leave too. And Manchester United soon came with the offer. Well, it seems that Vieira is not yet ready to return in the Premiership. And that’s exactly why Inter made a counter-offer for the Frenchman. And Juventus seems to have already come to an agreement with the new Serie A champions. As “Gazzetta dello Sport” reported earlier today, Juventus will let the Frenchman go to Inter for 13 million euros. A few minor details are to be established, but the transfer is 95% made. That would mean that the Turin side lost about 7 million euros with this deal, since they bought Vieira from Arsenal with 20 million euros.
When Juventus was penalised I was hoping Vieira will come back to Arsenal, but Inter will sign him :( At least, he wont go to Manchester United :D 1 year ago when Vieira left Arsenal for Juve I hoped they will face each other in UCL, and that happend and Arsenal won. This season I want Arsenal to face Inter and eliminate them >:) Probably Vieira will think about returning to Arsenal.

Friday, July 21, 2006Bad news: iDefense, a Verisign company has revealed the findings of a study involving a Windows related security vulnerability exploit. The statistics took into account data related to MySpace.com and other Websites that run a hacked online advertisement banner. As a result, an estimated million of users that were browsing these sites with unpatched versions of Windows OS had their machines compromised. The exploit is tied to a security vulnerability for which Microsoft has released security updates since January.
The flaw refers to the manner in which Windows renders WMF (Windows Metafile) images, allowing attackers to install malicious invasive software on unpatched versions of Windows OS. In this case, the malware was disguised in an ad for DeckOutYourDeck.com.
On the machines that lacked the WMF patch, Windows has downloaded a Trojan meant to install malicious software in the PurityScan/ClickSpring family of adware. The Trojan enables the user with pop-ups while browsing and records his surfing habits while trying to download additional malware.
Further analyzing the Trojan's behavior, researchers have discovered that the program attempted to connect to a Russian language server in Turkey. This server was keeping track of the number of compromised machines, and at the time of its discovery it had counted 1.07 million infected devices.
About 2 days ago I got some viruses and stuff like this, it was something about WMF but i haven't payed attention to it, just read some words and then clicked OK :(. My computer was running very slow... I've tried some hours to remove them. My antivirus couldn't disinfect the infected files so i had to delete them, but a lot of infected files remained. Then I tried some antispyware programs: Giant Antispyware, SpyBot and removed a lot of spyware, it's running better now, but i still get problems with the browser sometimes is not responding X(. I think I will reinstall windows again... and I hate this. X(
160 000$ in One Day
